A little antisdel.s history

I thought I'd go back to antisdel.s history and where we came from. I loved photography classes in high school, especially when I did independent studies and I could just experiment in the dark room. Mom was taking photography classes at a local college so we were both learning the craft at the same time. 

These are some images from my assignment book that I thought you'd enjoy seeing. I certainly had some beautiful friends. They were either photographed at an abandoned house just down the road from our home or in our living room with a south window light and a black drape.

I printed and developed all of these at school although we had a darkroom at home, too.

This is an image of Mom that I took. I kept a high contrast image as well as a test strip from a poster size that we printed. She was exactly the age I am now when this image was shot.

Teaching Stories

We had a class at our studio for photographers who traveled from all over the country to attend. One part of the class is that we do some sample shooting. This time, we wanted to teach about telling a story so we asked Ashlee, 2010 antisdel.s FACES model and Brandon, 2009 senior to help us out with that.

Here are some of my favorite images and my interpretation of the story we told.

Brandon was driving along one day on his scooter...

When he happened along a pretty lady...

When waving her over didn't produce results, he resorted to beeping the buddy's horn...

That worked, so over she came.

The pretty lady jumped on behind.

and away they go...

True love.

Happy Birthday Julia

Julia may have just turned 1, but she has enough personality and opinion for a teenager. Of course, her older brothers and sisters are all teenagers or close to it so that's probably why she's so full of...well, cake right now. Here are some images of her enjoying a birthday cupcake. 

We also did a beautiful set of images with flowers her mama, my cousin, brought in as well as blooming crabapple branches that my wonderful husband brought over to the studio for me. One of those images will be displayed at Oak Park Mall and entered into the Professional Photographers of America magazine cover competition. We've had the cover of that national magazine twice, but I'd love to win it again. I'll post those soon, but..

right now we're celebrating so let's all watch what Julia's thinking about eating her cupcake. Feel free to reply with cute captions and I'll put them in this post.

Living Green and Loving It

This isn't actually a post about being environmentally conscious although Louisburg did just get recycling as an option with our garbage services so I'm excited about that. And if I still had chickens, we'd be recycling just about everything, but I'm actually talking about our Make Believe sessions. Today was our first ever Living Green sessions and they were so cute. We have so many great pieces of furniture so we had something to match everyone.

Mady and Me Fun

We had a day out of the studio photographing at Mady and Me for a Little Models Search. The images are so darling and we can't wait for you to see them in Mady and Me advertising as well as on display at the Mady and Me store on May 30 for their birthday celebration.

We brought up a bunch of our favorite sets to hold our starbucks.
