A few weeks ago, we were asked by the Bloomquist family to photograph some of the Royals players and their families after a game on Family Day. I was excited about the opportunity to bring Andy, my husband, Michelle, antisdel.s portrait designer, and Natalie, photo assistant and more, to the game. We were able to sit in the family section which was really cool. Below is a shot Natalie took of Andy and I while we enjoyed the game. Winning 10 to 2 over the Cardinals was super. Much better expressions on everyone's faces for the photographs!

I was also really nervous, but I tried to talk myself out of it by telling myself - this isn't that big of deal. You probably won't photograph very many of the families so you won't have to worry about it. These folks have no idea who you are and they won't be worried about you. All the things that I tell myself when I'm about to jump off the cliff into the void of something new.
And to my superb relief, the magic of photographing families happened. As you can see here, Willie Bloomquist's daughters were so excited to visit their daddy at work.
The girls ran into their daddy's arms, snuggled, kissed and hugged. We may have been in a huge baseball stadium with fans running around the edge of the field for an event, with other players and families taking pictures and hanging out all around, but the beauty of photography is that if you are ready to capture the moment, it will be there in your image forever. Oh Dear, I think I've waxed eloquent here. But I do love the energy and interaction of these images.
Thank you, Bloomquist Family and the Royals for a great game, a really fun experience and beautiful memories for all of us!
These pictures are fabulous!
