What senior pictures look like when it's 111 degrees...

It's hard to believe that just a couple weeks ago it was so incredibly hot, but I have proof. This is an image of the dashboard of my car while in route to one of our locations in Louisburg during a senior portrait session with Shelby.

As you can see, it really was 111 after I started driving. When we first got into the car, it actually showed 112 but I wasn't fast enough to shoot that picture. We were on our way to photograph Shelby in her pink prom dress at the big tree. I also have proof that I was not sitting in the car shooting out of the window. Although, now that I type that, it sounds like a great idea to hold onto for future scorching days.

Below, is an image of me, Kia, photographing Shelby while she poses on the tree. I love calling someone a trooper. Shelby definitely was a trooper.

 

 

But, Shelby didn't just climb up on the tree which was somewhat shaded for the gorgeous images below...

She also ran through the tall grass in the beating sun with these really fun pink wings on and a hat full of flowers, no less. I love her pink wings and barbie pink prom dress. So fun. So playful. So hot. Literally!

How Cute Were You 17 years ago?

These are some more of our darling 2012 senior identity prints. Aren't they so much fun? We are having a great time seeing all of the snapshots of our 2012 seniors as little kids and they are look so great with our senior pictures.

On Location in California for antisdel.s Senior Portraits!

You would think I've mixed up states in the title of my post. antisdel.s photography is in Kansas, right? Yes, you haven't misplaced us, but this spring we did our first on location senior portrait session in Palm Springs with Taylor Johnson, 2011 senior and her brother, Austin Johnson, 2012 senior.

We traveled to some amazing locations that my mom, Sana, scouted and planned. It was a pretty unbelievable experience - going from the hot desert ACE hotel, up to 30 degree snowstorm in the mountains back down to a monsoon rain at the carnival and then the next day hiking down through the heat into the prehistoric jungle of the Palm Oasis and back up to the whipping winds at the air museum and windmill fields.

Here are some of my favorite images from the experience. We are planning to offer this type of experience to 2012 seniors. Let us know at your senior session if you think this is for you.

Join antisdel.s identity project!

When creating this year's high school senior portrait advertising, we realized that antisdel.s photography is turning 17 so the studio is the same age as a high school senior. How fun is that? It seemed significant to me. So, we've started a special project with any high school seniors who have their senior pictures at antisdel.s photography.

When you come in for your session, bring in some pictures from when you are little and be prepared to tell us a little bit about who you are now and who you were when you were a little cutie. We just started this off on a whim, but the identity project is turning out to be much more than we expected.

We are excited to see how it grows and where it goes. What's next?

Happy 16th Birthday, Ali!

My cousin, Ali, came in for some sweet 16 pictures in the snow this week. You can't guarantee or plan snow so when she told me she wanted snow pictures when there was no snow yet, I was excited to get her call about coming in after the big snowfall. Yes, I did put the word snow in that last sentence 5 times, no just 4 I guess. 

We had so much fun even though it was a bit chilly! So, happy sweet sixteen, Ali!

Bring Nima Home!

That's what we are praying for, but while she and her mommy, my friend and fellow photographer are waiting in Nepal for Nima to be granted a Visa to the US, consider joining us in helping the Taufer family during their wait to bring newly adopted Nima home.

My mom, Sana, and I are currently in Morton, Illinois donating our time photographing for Vicki's studio V Gallery. We are looking forward to a full day of St. Nick sessions tomorrow (hopefully the couple inches of first snow we've gotten tonight won't deter anyone from coming to visit Santa).

Here are some really fun images that we did today in and outside of Vicki's studio.

I was so impressed with Blake's bike tricks despite the snow and his little cousin Kasie has quite a personality.  

 

We had a fun and enlightening time working in another photographer's studio. Vicki has so many beautiful sets to work with.

As I said earlier, during this season of giving and thinking of others in need, I encourage you to put Vicki, Jed and Nima on your list of people to pray for and support this Holiday Season.

The Real Thing: Luke's Senior Pictures Part 3

I've put Luke's senior pictures into several parts. The first post were his wake boarding images, the second post was his little sister, Ella's session and I am finally posting his favorite images from his senior session and our favorite images from his 2011 FACES model session.

Luke has such an easy all American look and a really nice smile and his Fashion Air move is pretty impressive, too:).
